Great Bear Royalties Corporation

Great Bear Royalties Corp. is a precious metals royalty and streaming company. The Company's principal asset is a 2% NSR Royalty on Kinross Gold's (TSX:K) Great Bear Project located in Northwestern Ontario. The Great Bear Project is Canada's newest major gold discovery which was acquired from Great Bear Resources for US$1.4 billion on February 24, 2022.

John Robins

John Robins is a co-founder and principal of Discovery Group, a professional geologist, and award-winning prospector who has been a steward of the junior mining industry for more than 35 years. His entrepreneurship has created over $2.4 billion in M&A activity and has generated over $1 billion in direct and indirect mineral expenditures. He has been involved in several notable discoveries including the 5 million oz Coffee Gold deposit in Yukon, the Great Bear Project in Red Lake Ontario, Three Bluffs gold deposit in the Committee Bay greenstone belt, and the Aviat/Churchill diamond districts of Nunavut.

Mr. Robins acts as Chairman to Fireweed Metals, K2 Gold, Gold Basin Resources, Great Bear Royalties, and as a director to Elemental Royalties, as well as a Strategic Advisor to Elemental Royalties, Kodiak Copper, ValOre Metals, and Prospector Metals.

Calum Morrison

Mr. Morrison has over 15 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked both in corporate development and investment banking roles. He is the former CFO and VP Corporate Development of TSX.V listed Great Bear Resources which was sold to Kinross for C$1.8B in February 2022. Mr. Morrison has managed and led negotiations on numerous transactions with aggregate value in excess $5 billion; including acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives. Most recently Mr. Morrison was a senior member of Teck Resources Limited’s Corporate Development team that oversaw the origination, negotiation, and execution of numerous transactions. Mr. Morrison is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter Holder, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), and holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science honours degree from Dalhousie University.

Zeenat Lokhandwala

Ms. Lokhandwala has over 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, corporate taxation and mergers and acquisitions. Most recently Ms. Lokhandwala was the Director of Finance of TSX.V listed Great Bear Resources, through to its acquisition by Kinross Gold. Prior to this, Ms. Lokhandwala was the Finance Manager of Leagold Mining, through to the merger with Equinox Gold Corp. and has also been a part of KPMG’s mining and US tax practices. Ms. Lokhandwala is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia

Jeff Dare

Mr. Dare is a compliance professional with over 13 years of experience advising companies on internal / external reporting with respect to being a Listed Issuer and during this time has built an extensive network of professionals within the areas of legal, banking, insurance, and transfer agency. He has also assisted in raising upwards of $200M in equity capital for growth companies. Currently, Mr. Dare holds several Senior Officer positions with a number of TSX-V and CSE Listed Issuers.

Chris Taylor

Mr. Taylor is a structural and economic geologist, and mining entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience with both producers and exploration companies. He was most recently CEO, President and Director of Great Bear Resources Ltd., which was acquired in February 2022 by Kinross Gold Corp. for C$1.8B.  Currently, Mr. Taylor is Chairman of TSX.V listed companies Kodiak Copper Corp. and Advisor to K2 Gold Corp.  Prior to this, he was a geologist with Imperial Metals, Inc., a TSX.V company from 2004 to 2009. Mr. Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Science honors degree in Earth Sciences in 2000, and a Master of Science degree in Structural Geology from Carleton University in2003.

Jim Paterson

Jim is a principal of Discovery Group and has been actively involved in marketing and corporate development activities for the group companies since 2002. Jim has 23 years of industry experience, including capital raises, acquisitions, joint-ventures, spin-outs, RTOs, and IPOs. He is the Chairman and CEO of ValOre Metals Corp. and was a driving force behind more than $80 million in equity financings for ValOre that lead to multiple discoveries at the Pedra Branca PGE project and multiple discoveries and a 200% increase in mineral resources at ValOre’s Angilak Property uranium project. Jim was a long-standing and active director of Kaminak Gold Corp. (acquired by Goldcorp.) and founding director of Northern Empire Resources Corp. (acquired by Coeur Mining). In 2007, Jim founded Corsa Capital Ltd. Corsa’s 2008 IPO led to a 2010 transaction which created a leading U.S. metallurgical coal producer with a C$250M market capitalization.

Jill Donaldson

Jill Donaldson, JD, ICD.D is a Principal at IWJ Law, Business + Investment Counsel. As a senior corporate and securities lawyer for over 20 years, Jill has extensive experience working with boards in mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and implementation, governance and stakeholder relations, and compliance and risk management. Jill brings a breadth of experience having advised her clients on the business, legal and regulatory issues that arise with the formation, management and operation of public companies and investment funds. Jill obtained her ICD.D designation in 2019 and is a director Prospera Credit Union and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
