Great Bear Royalties Corporation
Great Bear Royalties Corp. is a precious metals royalty and streaming company. The Company's principal asset is a 2% NSR Royalty on Great Bear Resources Ltd.'s (TSXV:GBR) Dixie Project located in Red Lake, Ontario. The Dixie Project is Canada's newest major gold discovery, with one of the largest fully funded exploration programs in the country currently underway ($45 million) with an objective to further establish its status as a potential Tier 1 gold project.
CEO & Director
Mr. John Robins is a professional geologist, prospector and entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience in the mining industry. In 2008 he was awarded the Spud Huestis award for his contributions to mineral exploration in British Columbia and Yukon. He has been involved in several notable discoveries including the 5 million oz Coffee Gold deposit in Yukon, Three Bluffs gold deposit in the Committee Bay greenstone belt and the Aviat/Churchill diamond districts of Nunavut. He has been involved in over a billion dollars in M&A activity and has generated over $500 million in direct and indirect mineral expenditures throughout Canada, Latin America and Australia. Mr. Robins acts as Chairman to Fireweed Zinc Ltd. and K2 Gold Corp. and Strategic Advisor to GBR, Genesis Metals Corp., Kodiak Copper Corp., ValOre Metals Corp. and Ethos Gold Corp.
Mr. Morrison has over 15 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked both in corporate development and investment banking roles. He is the CFO and VP Corporate Development of TSX.V listed Great Bear Resources. Mr. Morrison has managed and led negotiations on numerous transactions with aggregate value in excess $5 billion; including acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives. Most recently Mr. Morrison was a senior member of Teck Resources Limited’s Corporate Development team that oversaw the origination, negotiation, and execution of numerous transactions. Mr. Morrison is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter Holder, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), and holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science honours degree from Dalhousie University.
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Lokhandwala has over 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, corporate taxation and mergers and acquisitions. Most recently Ms. Lokhandwala was the Finance Manager of Leagold Mining, through to the merger with Equinox Gold Corp. Prior to this, Ms. Lokhandwala was part of KPMG’s mining and US tax practices. Ms. Lokhandwala is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.
Mr. Dare is a compliance professional with over 13 years of experience advising companies on internal / external reporting with respect to being a Listed Issuer and during this time has built an extensive network of professionals within the areas of legal, banking, insurance, and transfer agency. He has also assisted in raising upwards of $200M in equity capital for growth companies. Currently, Mr. Dare holds several Senior Officer positions with a number of TSX-V and CSE Listed Issuers.
Mr. Taylor is a structural and economic geologist and mining entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience with both producers and exploration companies. He is CEO, President and Director of Great Bear Resources Ltd since December 2010. He is currently Chairman of TSX.V listed Kodiak Copper Corp. and formerly a geologist with Imperial Metals Corp., a TSX company from 2004 to 2009. Mr. Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Science honors degree in Earth Sciences in 2000, and a Master of Science degree in Structural Geology from Carleton University in 2003.
Mr. James Paterson, a resident of Fort Mill, SC, USA, is the Chief Executive Officer of ValOre Metals Corp. (previously named Kivalliq Energy Corporation). Mr. Paterson has 23 years of corporate experience with several North American publicly traded companies, participating in acquisitions, joint-ventures, spinouts, reverse transactions, and initial public offerings. Since January 2010 Mr. Paterson has been involved as an executive or as an active director of companies which have raised more than $350 million in equity financings and been part of significant corporate transactions (director of Kaminak Gold acquired by Goldcorp and Northern Empire acquired by Coeur Mining) Mr. Paterson founded, was President and Chief Executive Officer, and a director of Corsa Capital Ltd., a company which acquired and capitalized coal mining assets in the USA. Mr. Paterson serves as a director of ValOre Metals Corp., a mineral exploration company listed on the TSXV. Mr. Paterson obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Royal Roads University in 2004.
Jill Donaldson, JD, ICD.D is a Principal at IWJ Law, Business + Investment Counsel. As a senior corporate and securities lawyer for over 20 years, Jill has extensive experience working with boards in mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and implementation, governance and stakeholder relations, and compliance and risk management. Jill brings a breadth of experience having advised her clients on the business, legal and regulatory issues that arise with the formation, management and operation of public companies and investment funds. Jill obtained her ICD.D designation in 2019 and is a director Prospera Credit Union and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
